Spring Break ’13

Spring break has changed a lot for me over the years, although I was never one to go on a beachy Spring Break somewhere (except once – but that story is for another day.) But, when I was young it meant road trips, partying, and sleeping in. Now, it means catching up on housework, rejuvenating for the rest of the school year, and doing school work.
Well, as I’ve mentioned, this year I am going to Houston to visit my brother and sister in law and niece. I have been missing them so much. Sometimes when I am lying in bed at night, tears just stream down my face. I am not sure when I will get used to this new normal. I know that some day I will, but it’s hard to be in the process of becoming less close with people and being painfully aware of it. Luckily, thanks to my dad, I get to see them next week, and for a week at the end of June!!!

This Spring Break vacation is the first vacation Craig and I have gone on together in a really long time. I mean, we have taken two night road trips – but not a vacation. The last one we went on was for a friend of mine’s wedding. She is not married any more if that gives you any indication as to how long ago that was.
We are so excited.

Mr. WA has looked up breweries he wants to visit, and I have only smooching my niece on my mind, and nothing much past that.

Anybody else been to Houston? Any places they would recommend to eat? Or visit? We will have our days to ourselves while my brother and his wife are at work and my niece is at school.

Well, I have a snow day today (Can you believe it??) So, I am off to do more laundry and cleaning.

This time next week we will be reunited….

Have a great day!
